Hospice Clinical Pastoral Education Intern Program

Interested in becoming a hospice chaplain?

The Hospice Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program is a unique educational experience in pastoral care. It employs the action/reflection/action model of education which encourages students to learn through their direct experiences of ministry to patients and family members, in a clinical setting, and, by reflecting upon, and exploring, those experiences with peers and a supervisor.

The CPE program is composed of approximately 100 hours of seminar time and 300 hours of clinical time. Students meet for seminars Mondays, 9a-4p and provide clinical time 1 day a week.

The Hospice CPE Intern Program is supervised by Pothin Ngyele, Frederick Health Hospice Chaplain. The program is administered through Frederick Health.

Tuition is $500; a bill will be sent to educational institutions if CPE is taken for academic credit.
